Location: Margaret Road, Kettering, UK
Health: Injured or unwell
Age:
Sex: Unknown
Collar: No
Microchipped: Not sure
Markings: Has an very log tail which should be fluffy. Coat in bad condition. Some of it is sparse.
Circumstances: It sat with my cats and walked down to the back door asking for food
Other info: It's extremely thin, especially in the hind quarters. The legs and face have a dense black coat as against the middle areas. Scraggy. Gradually coming round to being near a person. Used to a house and a cat flap. It looks as if it has thyroid disease, kidney disease or another disease which causes weight loss - worms even. Maybe FIV?

Hello. Thank you for telling me this. Have you any more information, ie his name, perhaps age and the number of the house he lives at? Right now he's sitting in my kitchen drying himself after coming soaked to the skin. I've been feeding him for the last couple of weeks which I don't mind at all. My two cats don't mind him coming in. He's very nervous.

PR65032. This cat comes for food and to dry himself off. If he lives in Charlotte Place as suggested I'd like to know whether he has any illness because I have two cats. Not sure what the correct procedure would be here. Do I go and see his alleged owner or report his condition to the RSPCA? Any advice out there would be welcome.

Hello frayneashley45 I'm so happy someone is looking after him as I was not able to as I have 2 of my own my advice would be to go rspca I can't be 100% sure they are the owners I've never seen them let him in only seen him curled up on a mat outside there front door they moved in around here a few years ago & he appeared aswell he never used to be in such poor condition I think its through lack of food & having to survive on the streets with no warm home bless him.

Hello again. I appreciate you trying to help tis cat. I have two cats as well so I'd really like to know whether or not "Robbie" as I've had to call him, has any disease which he can pass on. To know this I need to speak to his owner. The RSPCA are unable to come out due to the short staff numbers and the Covid19. They would need to know the house number in any case. The only thing I can do now is to find and speak to whoever owns him and see what they say about his condition. Maybe they can't afford vet fees and need help, the RSPCA might help with this. The fact that he sleeps on a mat outside their front door indicates that he lives there. Even if I can get help to get veterinary treatment I can't do this without the owners permission. It's a shame that the RSPCA can't attend to this right now though. Please give me the name or number of the house so I can call. If you don't want to do this text me on 07400 450515 instead. Thank you.

Owner located. Cat was used to being out all the time. As he's so thin he's been mistaken for a stray. Since contacting the owner his condition seems to have improved.
