Please do not take in someone else’s cat! You are supposed to knock on all nearby doors all around your home! This cat is NOT in any danger and is healthy and not sick. You can put a paper collar on this cat if you are worried, giving your contact details. If no owner comes forward with 36 hours then get the cat microchipped at your local Vets as SOON as possible. DO NOT HAND THE CAT OVER TO THE VET unless they are able to contact owner and only then if the owner can collect the cat from the Vet. If the cat is not chipped then posters need to be put up - where the cat was ‘found’. But NO photo. If an owner comes forward then ask for proof of ownership, and identification of any distinguishing features, before you hand over this cat.

Warning - so many people are now assuming that everyone is on social media and registered with lost pet registers. Many people are not able to find their cats when someone takes their cat in, thinking the cat is lost when it is not lost. Potentially a cat that is not chipped can be taken to a Vet and then the cat can be euthanised before owner does not contact Vet in time!

I didn't take the cat as I can't have pets in my apartment, but I wanted to leave info about him being found. Acouple living nearby took him. I sent their details to the owner's friend who texted me. Case closed, thanks for help.
