What a handsome cat. Any chance you could get him to a vet to be scanned?

Hi reggiemollieros, thanks, yes he is handsome and very polite. However, our neighbour and I have both tried to get him into a carrier to take to the vet and he just goes rigid, sticks out all his limbs and cries. Just spoken to the C$ helpline, who recommend covering him with a towel and up ending the cat carrier. We might give it a few days before we try that...

Oops, should read C4 helpline https://www.cats.org.uk/c4/home.asp?url=c4

I was in this situation last year and what I did was took it slowly as mine was really wary. I started by putting food in a open cat carrier and didn’t try and close the door. Then after he was eating in the cat cat carrier I threw some cooked chicken at the back of it and that was my small window of opportunity when he went in for the chicken I closed the door on him. I was on my own so didn’t fancy my chances with the towel merthod. I might be possible to get someone out with a scanner. Let me know how you get on.

Hi reggiemollieros, so glad it turned out well for you and the cat. All suggestions gratefully received, I'll share this with my neighbour who has the bigger cat basket.

I had a large cat carrier not a small one.
