Circumstances:	We heard the kitten meowing so loud that we heard it across the road. We crossed the road and saw that the kitten was in front of a certain house so we knocked on it, asking if it was their kitten. They said no and we asked if they know whose cat this may be and they said they've never seen it around before. The person who answered the door said to just leave the kitten and eventually it'll find its home. However, once we put it down the kitten started playing with a leaf, chasing it into the road onto oncoming traffic. Thankfully, we ran after it and made the car stop before something tragic happened. Due to this incident, we decided to take the kitten home with us as it was late at night and quite dangerous for such a small cat.

You did the right thing to take the kitten with you .I live in Thornton rd near there and are loafs of cats missing in purley way .Maybe lost or abandoned cat. Try to check if has a chip
