We don't know what happened but a groundsman on the school field behind our house found him last Friday but had failed to inform anyone about it. We didn't hear til yesterday morning when we asked and he told us that "yes" he'd found a dead black & white cat with a green collar and had discarded it. :( We managed to retrieve his body & now know that it's him. The manager of the school grounds helped us out by intervening and kindly returning him in a custom-made wooden box.
