LOST
Hairy Mclarey
Name: Hairy Mclarey
Breed & Species: Domestic long-haired cat
Colour: Black
SimpleColour:
Went missing: 4 years ago
(29 October 2019 at around 14:00hrs)
Location: Swaffham PE37 8JF, UK
Health: Healthy
Age: 13 years old (approx)
Sex: Female
Collar: No
Microchipped: Yes
Markings: One of her green iris has a stone chip ( like the little missing McGann child)
Circumstances: Moving into new house all three cats let out of basket into lounge to feed as I had kept them hungry to stop them running away. I left them to go to car to get food and hubby entered through lounge door. They were all walking in and out so gave them 5 minutes and then shut door, realised McLarey was not there and removal men had arrived in loud lorry with 4 men, think she bolted. I have driven down to Braintree where the lorry returned to but no luck. I have gone out every early evening looking for her around the estate and spoken to anyone who will liste. £100 reward alive or dead, just need to know. Don’t think I don’t blame myself for not feeding them somewhere safer. Thank you

McLairy has been spotted twice in the same area now but the last report said she looked dishevelled and was crouching as she walked. I have hone out twice a day now without any luck so have changed strategy, I have left her cat box with a warm fleece inside and at the back of the basket a small bowl of food,if she will return to the basket for food I stand a chance. Tonight I am going to take a stool and warm clothing and sit for a while. Fingers crossed, she is getting weaker.

After being spotted around the same area by a neighbour we tried leaving out her pet carrier with fleece and food but nothing. Finally contacted Cat Protection to loan a baited catcher cage and within 4 hours we had her. I had spent hours everyday calling for her. Spent days hacking down undergrowth and brambles on abandoned garden but she never came. The box just worked.
