If a cat is relaxed, healthy and appears to be from somewhere nearby, then knocking on doors nearby would be good IF there is any concern about this cat, or IF you want to know who owns the cat and to know if this cat has a loving owner. You can put a paper collar on the cat, asking the owner to ring you. You could take the cat in a secure cat carrier to the Vets’ IF you think that the cat needs treatment and to contact the owner via the Vet. But to advertise a friendly cat’s whereabouts and making the cat feel familiar with strangers is not necessarily a good idea, unless there is good reason.

The cat looks a bit rough. Looks like some sores around their butt. I can't feel a chip under the skin, but i've gone ahead and put a paper collar on them. They're spending more and more time near my flat and aren't going elsewhere.

If the cat has sores around their backside -couldn't somebody take her to the vet to get checked out? Celia Hammond on Barking road (near Canning Town tube station) neuter stray cats for free and also treat them - I usually give a small donation, but don't think it's obligatory. They may even find the cat a proper home. For advice, give them a ring -02074748811.
