Circumstances:	Looked in good condition but came into garden and stood on table and started meowing continuously as if asking for help. Came in this morning again for food. I have one other cat who is not too good with other cats so trying to keep him away from this cat but also making sure this cat is fed and has water

Have you checked if the cat is microchipped? Most vets would check for free. Good luck finding the owner..
