LOST
Den
Name: Den
Breed & Species: Domestic short-haired cat
Colour: Tabby
SimpleColour:
Went missing: 2 years ago
(17 August 2021 at around 19:00hrs)
Location: Shortlees Crescent, Kilmarnock, UK
Health: Healthy
Age: 5 years old (approx)
Sex: Neutered Male
Collar: No
Microchipped: No
Markings: He is a beautiful young tabby with a few unique markings. The soles of his front and back paws are completely black, he has three spots on the bridge of his noes on both sides like (.:), a pure white chin and he has very large ears for the size of his head.
Circumstances: I came home from work and let him out the window as usual, he never returned that night. I had to leave for work sure he'd come by when I got home but haven't seen him since. He was lost near the Shortlees shops in Kilmarnock. He knows his way home and I fear the worst. I am willing to put a reward up of £100, I don't make much otherwise it would be a lot more.

Hi there I live on outskirts of fenwick and have been visited for about 10 to 14 days by what I think may be a stray that look very like your pic of lost boy. It won't come to me but is coming for food each day which I leave in our greenhouse. The food disappears but I rarely see the cat. It might be worth checking if it might be your cat and it will come to you. I appreciate it's an outside chance. Thanks Jayne

Thanks so much for getting in touch. Thanks for letting me know, if you can please take a picture of him. I will take the bus down that way and have a look about.

I think a pic will be difficult as comes for food when we're not about. Maybe see if you can borrow a "cat trap" cage and I can put it in greenhouse probably best chance of success. Thanks

By the way I'm not requiring the reward as just be nice to return the cat if it's Den .

Well thanks so much about reward. I'll see about getting trap and then we can arrange to meet somewhere and I'll give it to you. Hopefully it's him, thanks.

I now it's it might not be him but even a small chance is worth it in my book. If it's not him I'm happy to give it a home as I lost my lovely cat a couple of months ago

Sorry to hear that, the pain will still be fresh after a couple months. It was horrible when my first cat went. Den is my second.

Hopefully can borrow a trap from local cat rescue people or maybe they will come and set one for us, I'm not too sure how they might want it done. I'm ok with it either way

I'll see what resources are available, if they can't help I'll buy one from amazon

Thanks, Harley was a rescue cat we got from ayrshire cat protection we are a small farm and he was brilliant fun, he worked during the day and slept on the couch when work was done at the end of the day so I've actually been thinking about another cat anyway as farms need a cat about. But I do hope it's your missing boy would be a lovely result to get him home.

Hopefully it is, if its not I'd be happy for you to get a new cat. A farm would be an ideal place for a cat.

Well I spoke to both SSPCA and cats protection. SSPCA won't give trap unless the cats injured and cats protection wont give one because its too slim a chance without photo. Ive ordered one from amazon but it won't come until 4th october, thats two whole weeks. There were cheaper ones that would come earlier but had very bad reviews of cats escaping them. So i'll let you know when I get it and we can arrange to meet somewhere for you to get it.

That's typical I'd have thought they would have lent one even for a deposit but I'll keep on putting food out and if any chance of a pic I will try. Just keep me posted and I will come pick up trap and hopefully we catch it. Thanks

Good news, I haven't got him back yet but I know where he's about and went and seen him. He's around where my mom stays, I got him from her. He'll come for a clap but will fight like hell to stay out the cat carrier, but we'll get sedatives to send him to sleep.

So the tabby cat your feeding isn't him, you should try to get him for yourself, leave food at your window sill or something. Thanks for all your help.

Awe that's great news and I'm really pleased you'll get him home. I saw the cat here today and it does look really like yours so hopefully I can gain trust and give it a home. At least you can return the cage you ordered and get money back also

He has chosen to not come back, I only had him a little while, when he ran away, he has been back yet choses his old territory. I'll not force him to stay if he wants his old life.
