Circumstances: We were out for the day on our return when we opened the front door to enter she ran out.

If she is an indoor cat they tend not to go too far. Have you put the contents of her litter tray or your hoover outside to help her get a scent? Inform the chip company too and make sure your details are up to date. I will share on Twitter and hope you are back together soon.

Fulu returned home safely in the dark, when the stray cat had stop left the area. She has not been hurt. She needs to take Atopica medicine which she does not like but we give her treats she likes to give her with it. She came home settled down and started to purr.
