A neighbour called us as she found Omar's tag in her kitchen. Omar had been steeling food from her cats for a while. We went in the area later that night with some food and started calling for him. After 10 minutes he meowed back and we managed to catch him enticing him with the food. Even after six month he immediately recognised us! He had a bad injury under in right armpit. This is because he was wearing an elasticated collar when we lost him and somehow the collar got stretched under the armpit causing the laceration due to prolonged friction in the area. We definitely got him just in time as the wound was deep and infected but he is home now and the wound is healing fine. Although the collar caused this bad injury, at the same time it was thanks to the tag that we could find him and bring him home. We had been searching for him in the exact same spot other times before while he was missing but with no luck.
