LOST
Merle
Name: Merle
Breed & Species: Domestic short-haired cat
Colour: Black and tan
SimpleColour:
Went missing: 4 years ago
(21 April 2019 at around 17:00hrs)
Location: Pevensey Bay Road, Eastbourne BN23 6HX, UK
Health: Healthy
Age: 9 years old
Sex: Spayed Female
Collar: Yellow
Microchipped: Yes
Circumstances: Merle was safe in our house when an out of control dog which was off its lead, without warning suddenly appeared from nowhere on our small access road, ran into our garden and into our house and chased her up the stairs. I had been out in the garden and ran after the dog. It had Merle cornered on the stairs and was growling at her. I made a lot of noise by shouting at it very loudly and banging and it turned round and ran down the stirs and out of the house. I went out to confront its owner who had arrived from another nearby road where she had been walking the dog off the lead in a built up area near an A road. I spent only a minute or two telling the owner what her dog had done and then I returned to the house straightaway to find my two rescue cats. I found my other cat Lissy cowering on the kitchen window sill but Merle had disappeared. I have hunted everywhere for her both in and around my house and the been around the neighbouring streets calling her but she still has not returned. As far as I know the dog had not injured Merle but as I did not get a close look at her as I was concentrating on getting the dog away from her and out I can't be 100 per cent sure. Lots of things were knocked over on my landing and one glass item was broken so I know that she had been chased and had been desperately trying to get away from the intruder dog. Merle and Lissy are rescue cats which I adopted last month from Romania. They have only just started to go out as I was advised by World Animal Friends to keep them inside for three weeks. Consequently Merle is not very familiar with the area.
