Lily (Tiger-Lily)
Name: Lily (Tiger-Lily)
Breed & Species: Domestic short-haired cat
Colour: Tortoishell
SimpleColour:
Went missing: over a year ago
(14 March 2023 at around 15:00hrs)
Location: Clarence Avenue, London SW4 8LQ, UK
Health: Healthy
Age: 3 years old
Sex: Spayed Female
Collar: No
Microchipped: Yes
Markings: Tortoiseshell but looks tabby in some lights - her back is grey/dark brown/light brown wide longitudinal stripes, in whorls on sides, head looks lighter in colour (reddish tortoiseshell and thin stripes)
Circumstances: Lily had spent the morning inside her home. She was let out at 14:30 hours. She dashed around, as usual and disappeared, presumably to find prey. On keeper's return after dark, Lily did not come when called and has not been seen since (one week ago as at 20/03/2023).
Other info: Lily is of small build, quite delicate. She is a brilliant hunter, very territorial towards other cats but super-friendly with humans.

Hi not sure if it is Tiger Lily but a look alike was in my garden yesterday. I live in Thornton Avenue

Well, Stefania, that sounds a good possibility - the first reported sighting of Lily since she went missing. Could we visit your garden and call her/shake her dry food jar? Gill 07941 016504

We're not 100% sure that the photograph was Lily although markings seem to me to be identical. We spent an hour this evening walking up and down Thornton Avenue calling Lily's name, shaking her food box and leafletting the road. No luck so far.

(Message from keepers): We have received reports of several local sightings. The Thornton Road views were of a different cat but we have reports that Lily has been seen in King's Avenue, always after dark and in the vicinity of Thorncliffe Road; also in Agnes Riley Gardens off Clarence Avenue on the opposite side of the South Circular Road. These suggest that Lily has remained in the local neighbourhood but is not responding to calls from us or shaking of her food box - and she may not wish to come home. On our many cat searches of local roads we see so many areas that could be very attractive to cats! Nonetheless, please keep eyes open. She may well be more evident after dark but then it is more difficult for us to spot her!

Tiger-Lily (Lily) disappeared at 14:30 on 14/3 and none of the suggtings/reports received since were of Lily - until someone kept her in overnight on 4/4 and took her to vet on 5/4 for scanning. Vets on the Common (Clapham Common) called at 11:15 to say she had been scanned, was in good form and they were keeping her for us to collect. Both Vets on the Common and our own vet reported no worms or fleas; she had lost a little weight but checks revealed her to be in very good health. She has been "clingy" and hungry since returning home and we will keep her inside for at least 14 days, although Lily is desperate to get out (she normally goes out during the day and returns at night to sleep on her owner's bed). ?
