Stolen cat: Lilac British Shorthair cat called Shady - Bow area, Tower Hamlets

Markings:	Darker tail then his body
Circumstances:	I live on the ground floor, my precious cat went out of the door in the landing for 10-15mins which is secured by 2 security doors and there is no way out. Within that time someone from the building stole the cat as there is no chance he could of gone out. Straight away when i realised me and a friend started a search all around the building and outside for several hours and couldn’t find him. If the cat was close by he always responds and comes to me. I am begging you to please check the cctv cameras on the lifts at the time of the crime and please help me. He cat is a british shorthair pedigree named Shady. All i ask is for you to please check the lift cameras on 14/6/23 from 00.20 to 00.50 and help me as i feel utterly helpless. I have put posters all around the building and area and am doing all i can. I have knocked on doors and not everyone answers and i don’t feel safe. I have noticed the poster i put on the lift was removed as well as the upper floors. Please provide me with this help and assistance and i will forever be grateful.

Im so sorry this has happened to you, It must be terrifying. I will keep an eye out and tell my family and friends , I know many cats that do eventually get found, I hope he does return home home soon as possible

I dont live in the building or very close by however i live in the area and will put up posters if that will help? Just to bring awareness and just in case anyone has seen or heard anything, i pray your cat will return home safe

How can you assume stolen? If you left your cat in the lobby area unattended this will look to some people like its eitger been abandoned, or that its somehow got shut 8n the lobbg and needs letting out. If, however you have proof that your cat is stolen then teport it to the police and get a crime ref - cats come under oroperty law, and therefore regarded as a theft crime if thats what happened. Please DO NOT leave pedigree cats in lobby areas, this is irresponsible oet ownership - surely thats not rocket science!

I have left my cat out plenty of times and he has never run out or gone missing, some one grabbed him and took him because this building has nothing but tramps in it. If you can’t help, please don’t comment as I don’t need you to make me feel even worse than I already do!!!!!

Well imvery sorry that yiu find my comment insensitive, sometimesthe truth is harsh. You say yourself tge building is full of tramps but yiu left your cat there unatended in a lobby. Im very sorry, but as a registered pet patroller for tge area, and in rescue, I find it alarming that someone would leave a pedigree unatended in a rough estate. I feel bad for the cat!

Hopefully youl get him back, and not do this again. Please cintacttge chip company and mark as stolen. Please also ask in that rotton chinese takeaway too, astgey were reported few years back for illegal cat & kitten sales, and illegal breeding

SO SORRY !!!!! PLEASE CALL THE COPS, THEY CAN CHECK CCTV OR GIVE YOU A WAY TO GET ACCESS I HOPE. SO SORRY !!!!! SENDING LOTS OF LOVE AND LUCK !!! Is is possible they got out and got in a car or van ? Contact vets and animal rescues !!

I reported it to the police and have contacted RSPCA, all vets in the area, animal rescue sites. 😓

Go on local facebook groups for your area, and on missing cat FB groups and check on gumtree or wedsites that sell animals to see if they turn up on there xxx

So sorry for you. I know how you feel. Have you tried walking around the neighbourhood with a cat carrier or a bit of litter in a bag? Don’t ever give up - you will get him back. Prayers for you and shady x
