Maybe he coming back in nightime and you didn't hear her back. If u have a cat flap maybe he coming back, but if don t have leave a window open so he can coming inside. Try to calling your cat and shaking the bag of his treats,maybe helos

I saw a cat similar on lower addiscombe road trying to cross road next to alma tavern. It was trying to cross the road but then hid under a car in the garage next to pub.
